In entry 2 of the day, Chiajedi explains why she is now feeling short: I have been outwitted a small furry rodent. Whiskers, my chinchilla discover that she could jump from the compost bin to the counter, and from the counter to a container to the top of the refrigerator. I'm 5 feet, 4 inches tall. The fridge is a good 2 inches taller than I am. Whiskers was running around on top of the fridge, and running under this cabinet above the fridge. She knew I couldn't reach her. She was mocking me, making faces at me, like she used to when she'd escape from the kitchen and I'd be chasing her around trying to catch her failing because she is so fast. I begin to call my mom for help. I figured, she's not much taller than I am, but she might have som ideas. But mom is busy, and dad hears my calls for help. And he begins trying to catch Whiskers from on top of the fridge. Clearly, it's not a matter of how tall you are, because dad is a good 7 inches taller than I am, and he can't catch her because she keeps running under the cabinet and jumping backwards when we are about to catch her. She runs around our arms, and makes these barking sounds when we try to grab her. Dad finally gets her, and put her back in her cage. But as I walk by to put away the gates and such from when I let her out, she smirks at me. She knows she's won.
